Bio

Ever since my sophomore year of high school, I’ve known my dream is to become a genetic engineer involved with CRISPR and other gene therapies. As a current fifth-year Northeastern student studying Bioengineering with a concentration in Cell and Tissue Engineering, I can say I have never been so assured and passionate that this is what I want. As my time at Northeastern is coming to an end, I have preliminary started looking for jobs for after my graduation in December 2021.

I finished my first six-month co-op at Fulcrum Therapeutics where I optimized the iPSC cultures for myotubes, NGN2 neurons, and cardiomyocytes that were involved in CRISPR techniques to display rare disease phenotypes. From there I completed functional assays with varying pharmacology, and was involved with the immunofluorescence screening. Throughout this process, I was always eager to learn more about CRISPR techniques. With each experiment I conducted, I would complete detailed and timely SOPs and ELNs. In addition, I have a strong coding background in MATLAB developing personalized code to help with any data analysis. After this experience, I can truly say I love working in a lab, and I am hoping to gain even more experience with my next position.

I also loved my second co-op at Addgene, a company streamlining plasmid sharing and depositing, where I became even more knowledgeable in molecular biology, PCR, picogreen assays, and NGS sequencing techniques. My main tasks included diving into the NGS sequence results from our newly received plasmids to determine if any mutations were functional or not. Outside of the lab at Addgene, I developed a passion for Bioinformatics which lead me to choose a computational genomics project for my Senior Capstone Project.

As an adaptable person, I am positive that I will be able to learn other new research techniques quickly. Please let me know if you think I would be a good fit for your company.
